Baby #3 Bumpdate: I’ve Reached My Halfway Mark

I can not believe how fast this pregnancy is going! I’m already passed the halfway point!!  I’m 21 weeks! Ahhh! I’m seriously trying not to think of it to avoid preparation anxiety. Everyone who knows me well, knows I’m a planner. Last week I barely started my baby #3 preparation list. I’m already feeling behind! A note to my overly critical self: I had both of my toddlers’ birthdays and Easter all in a span of 9 days, slowing me down before I could get to the grind of preparing for Baby #3. Now I’m ready to start the hustle!

Equipping Your Child for Success in Perilous Times

The other day, I had a conversation with a friend about the challenges children at this present time endure even at a young age. Between the shootings that have occurred at elementary schools, child prostitution, and unlimited, uncensored access to information, without a doubt our children are being raised in a different world than we were.

You Don’t Need a Gym to be Fit!

After having my first child, I was so disappointed with how difficult it was for me to go back to the gym to do my usual workout routine. In fact it was impossible! I had to cancel my gym membership. Desperately, I began to search for ways to get in a quick workout session.

I remember trying to follow workout routines on postpartum videos that I acquired from a friend. Although they were better than nothing; I felt so restrictive. My baby boy rarely permitted me to a 30-45min session in front of a television. Once I had my second baby, I was back to square one with trying to find a way to fit a traditional workout session into my stay-at-home-mommy life. Before failure and frustration would creep back into my life, I found hope!

Matteo’s Birth Story (My First Baby)

The birth story of my first born was not exactly how my husband and I envisioned it would be. But isn’t labor like that for every first time mom? Nevertheless, we were doing everything we could to be “well-prepared” parents on the day of our little man’s delivery.

IMG_1226I can remember by husband and I attending every birthing class offered. We were those eager students ready to learn all we could in hopes to have the perfect labor experience. I love planning and organizing, so I already had a detailed vision of what my labor was going to look like. My birthing plan in a nutshell was to labor as much as possible at home, give birth to my son vaginally without any medication, and rely on the help of my mid-wife with just my husband and I in the delivery room. My husband was going to help by cuing the instrumental music, be on standby for inspirational scriptures, pillow propping, massages and yoga ball exercises as needed. We were ready to execute our plan! As far as the baby room preparation, getting all the baby clothes ready to wear and packing my hospital bag, we were just going to wait until I was off of work. After all, we were still in March, I was going to take the month of April off to relax and slowly prepare. The baby wasn’t due till May 2nd-that should have been enough time right? So we thought.

How I Am Still In Love With My Husband After 19 Years…

One afternoon I was enjoying a manicure while my husband, Juan was giving me a much-needed break from my mommy duties. All of a sudden, I received a Facebook message from my brother. With both of my hands occupied, all I could see was the question he asked me, “How are you still in love with Juan after 13+years?” His question completely caught me off guard at first. We normally have candid, deep conversations, but they’re usually not about marriage. Nevertheless, I admired his sincere question. I admittedly feel like we are living in a world where love has an expiration date. More and more, I find it rare where both partners want to put forth the effort marriage requires. I can honestly foresee the vast majority of this upcoming generation asking the same kind of question with a genuine concern: “How do you still love your spouse?”

The Love Walk: How Do We Love When We’ve Been Hurt?

Although we are born into this world eager to love and trust emphatically, we learn over time not everyone is trustworthy and some people are hard to love. We all go through heartaches, frustrations and disappointments from the people that enter our lives and test our ability to love, to forgive and to move on. Sadly, those that are the closest to us often challenge our “love walk” the most. It’s probably because they’re the ones we are the most vulnerable with. We hold our lovers, friends and family’s opinions with high regard and are sometimes caught off guard when they hurt us.

A Special Message to all My Family and Friends…

Did you guess it? Yes, I’M PREGNANT!!! We’ll be expecting Baby #3 this September! We are very excited and thankful to God for answering the prayers of our hearts.

Big brother, Matteo is more than ready to guide his sister, Milana on how to be a big sister. In fact, he’s been praying for a new baby for sometime. One morning in December, he prophetically spoke to me, “Mom you are pregnant. There’s a baby growing inside you right now!” He’s even had a name picked out for our new baby for months. Needless to say, I couldn’t ask for a better eldest son. He’s a wonderful big brother. Continue reading “A Special Message to all My Family and Friends…”
